My millionaire opponent continues to use en endless war chest to misrepresent the facts. Today’s tall tale from Appel tries to connect me to a felon. Truth is, when I was on the School Board, I vigorously pursued prosecution of a roofing contractor who bilked the system. Because of me, he went to jail. As an educator, I can’t tolerate someone who doesn’t do his homework. My opponent continuously drops libelous lies in a desperate effort to catch up . . . and that fails us all.

In 1995 when Dr. Polly Thomas was president of the School Board, member Laurie Rolling informed her about a conversation she had just had with roofing contractor Mark Gibson. President Thomas called an immediate meeting with Superintendent Elton Lagasse and board attorney Jack Grant. Information was turned over to the FBI and District Attorney. For the past few months as a candidate for State Senate District 9, Thomas has been walking door-to-door meeting the hard working people of Jefferson Parish.
